Facilities

Jack Purcell Community Centre

Centrally located in downtown Ottawa, Jack Purcell Community Centre has an 18 metre warm water pool, which offers regular aquatic programming and specialized programs for individuals with special needs. The facility also has a fully accessible weight room, five meeting rooms of various sizes and access to an adjacent school gym.

We also have the following facilities, available seasonally: 
  • Community Garden
  • Outdoor Skating Rink: The neighbourhood outdoor skating rink is located in Jack Purcell Park behind the community centre just off Elgin Street. A change area and outdoor lighting are provided to make this a comfortable outdoor winter activity for local Centretown residents. The outdoor rink season opens in late December and runs until February (weather permitting). ​
  • Tennis Court: Off Frank St. And Metcalfe


St. Luke's Park and Bethell Field House

St. Luke’s Park at 166 Frank Street, off Gladstone and Elgin, is owned, operated and maintained by the City of Ottawa through the community centre. This small greenspace is open to the families, youth and children of Centretown for leisure activities, where children and youth can enjoy the wading pool in the summer or just sit and enjoy the outdoors. At the park, you will find: 
  • Two play structures for both younger and older children
  • A swing set, including an accessible swing
  • Wading pool, open in summer​
  • Basketball Courts
  • Two lit tennis courts
  • The Bethell Field House, which has a capacity of 40 people, includes tables, chairs, a fridge and stove.
