About the After School Program
This program provides a safe and fun environment for children in Grades 1 to 6. Activities are planned for both junior and senior-level children and include outdoor time, arts and crafts, sports, both high and low energy games, swimming, colouring Club and reading Club.
ASP is organized to provide the maximum benefit to the children. Each child is assigned to a group, based on their age and grade; Minis and Juniors. Each group has designated staff, who work primarily with them during the time they are in the program from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m., Monday to Friday. All our staff, are responsible and handpicked, based on their knowledge and experience in working with children.
The afternoon is broken up into two activity periods and a 30-minute free time at the end of the day.
Each child has the daily option to choose between their group's daily planned activity (usually gym/running games), the colouring Club, and the reading Club. Kids also get to go swimming every two weeks in the community centre's pool. We also have planned activities based on the season, such as skating during the winter and water gun fights during the summer!
